Letter to Rural Business-Cooperative Service on Food Supply Chain Loan Guarantee Program

The Food Supply Chain Loan Guarantee Program makes $1 billion in loan guarantees available to support actors in the middle of the supply chain. Our food supply chains involve a complex web of interactions among multiple food systems tied to a range of global, national, regional, and local levels that are currently out of balance and vulnerable because of industry consolidation and monopolistic behavior. By taking a systems perspective that is regionally focused, data-centered, and driven by the Data Analytics Division within the Rural Development Innovation Center, Rural Business-Cooperative Services can leverage this program for number of social outcomes in addition to supply chain resilience.
