Comment Letters on the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service’s proposal to increase poultry and swine processing line speeds

Patti Truant Anderson submitted comment letters opposing two USDA proposed rules. The rules seek to allow poultry and swine processing facilities to increase their line speeds. These comments note that these rules would harm the health and safety of meat processing workers, who already experience harsh and dangerous conditions on the job.  The comments also highlight food safety and environmental impacts associated with increasing line speeds.
