Sameer M. Siddiqi

Sameer M. Siddiqi is a fifth-year PhD student in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Sameer’s dissertation explores the composition, activities and research use strategies of federal and state advocacy coalitions related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. His broader scholarship and advocacy focuses on knowledge exchange, federal food assistance programs and food waste. He is a consultant with the National Academy of Medicine's Leadership Consortium for a Value & Science-Driven Health System and has previously worked at the US National Institutes of Health, where he focused on childhood obesity, nutrition policy and health services research, and in the Office of Congressman John Lewis as a Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholar. Sameer is a Fellow of the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute and a volunteer community organizer with the Washington affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation. Sameer’s adviser is Shannon Frattaroli, PhD.
