Patti Truant

Patti Truant, MPH, CPH is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Health Policy and Management with experience in communications, public health practice, and health policy research focused on environmental health, sustainability and food systems. She received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland in 2005 and a Master of Public Health from JHSPH in 2009.  She has worked for the American Public Health Association, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and the Environmental Protection Agency.  She will be defending her dissertation in October 2014, which uses mixed methods to evaluate risk communication from key stakeholders and the news media about BPA in the food system.  Her advisor is Dr. Thomas A. Burke, professor, Department of Health Policy and Management and Department of Environmental Health Sciences.
