Matthew A. Aubourg

Matthew A. Aubourg, MSPH, is a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering (EHE). He is in the Exposure Sciences and Environmental Epidemiology track with Dr. Christopher D. Heaney as his research advisor and Dr. Ana M. Rule as his academic advisor. He is focused on addressing environmental health and justice concerns of communities working in and living at the fenceline of industrial food animal production systems by applying community-driven and participatory research principles and methods centering authentic partnerships with disproportionately impacted communities. Matthew aims to co-create mixed methods and epidemiological approaches with a cumulative impacts and policy-oriented lens. He holds degrees in Social and Behavioral Interventions (MSPH, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health) and Environmental Sciences (BS, University of Notre Dame). Prior to the PhD program, Matthew served as a Research Associate in EHE working with the Community Science and Innovation for Environmental Justice (CSI EJ) Initiative through the Center for a Livable Future.
