Tiffani DeFreitas

111 Market Place, Suite 840, Baltimore MD 21202

Program Officer

Tiffani joined the Center for a Livable Future in 2023 as a Program Officer, supporting the Education and Events teams. A trained social worker, she brings to the Center experience in research coordination and clinical evaluations.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornell University, as well as a master of science in social work (MSSW) degree from the Columbia University School of Social Work. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Tiffani added on to her pedigree by earning a master of public health (MPH) degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, along with a certificate in Food Systems, the Environment, and Public Health.

In addition to several years of experience as a social worker, Tiffani has worked on clinical evaluations of studies that took place at Montefiore Medical Center and at Mount Sinai Hospital, both in New York. Originally from Maryland, she has worked as a research coordinator at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Tiffani’s interest in the Center was sparked by the certificate classes, which she claims exposed her to an entirely new way of thinking about food systems, an approach that felt original. “It opened my mind,” she says. “Everyone should take the Intro to Food Systems class.”

Tiffani is a dog-mom with a penchant for British television, and she may or may not have a cookbook collection that could be considered excessive, but nonetheless brings her joy.
