Meg Densmore
Senior Administrative Manager
Meg joined the Center for a Livable Future in 2026 as a Senior Administrative Manager, bringing decades of experience in operations, administration, financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership within public health and international development organizations. Her experience includes positions in the Peace Corps, UNICEF, USAID, and more. She has been involved in HIV/AIDS work, global health, the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in 2018, food security, and and other humanitarian programs on a global scale. She has worked in Benin, Burundi, DRC, Indonesia, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
She is looking forward to applying her global experience in food systems work to domestic settings through the Center.
“I have seen the most dire circumstances in some parts of the world,” she says, “but you could go to impoverished neighborhoods in the United States and you’ll find problems with electricity and running water, lack of internet, food deserts, all of which are comparable to circumstances in developing countries.”
Meg earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, and her Master of Public Health degree from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Outside of the Center, Meg enjoys cycling and hiking with her dog in Alexandria, Virginia, and she has a special path in Old Town that she considers her “oasis in the city.” A consummate athlete with a background in competitive swimming—butterfly and sprint freestyle were her events—she has completed a couple of Half Ironmans and a few marathons. She is also actively training for amateur Olympic weightlifting competitions.
