Research Program Coordinator

Liz joined the Center for a Livable Future in 2025 as a Research Program Coordinator. In this role, she supports the team’s efforts to examine the intersections of environmental health, food systems, and public health equity, with a particular interest in applying literature reviews to better understand health outcomes of concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). Liz is passionate about advancing research that connects environmental justice and community health, with the goal of informing policies that promote sustainable futures.

She recently earned her Master of Science in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she specialized in Cancer Epidemiology and completed a certificate in Risk Sciences and Public Policy. She served as a Special Research Volunteer for the National Cancer Institute, and for her thesis, she examined the relationship between environmental carcinogens and kidney cancer disparities, focusing on vulnerable populations disproportionately impacted by environmental exposures.

During her graduate studies, Liz gained extensive experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in public health research, with projects ranging from evaluating food access and environmental justice communities to mapping health risks following industrial disasters.

Outside of work, Liz enjoys traveling, exploring Baltimore’s food scene, and spending time near the water.
