Dwain Worsley
Senior Grants & Contracts Analyst
Dwain joined the Center for a Livable Future in 2018 as a senior grants and contracts analyst, on the heels of a position at the Bloomberg School’s Department of Epidemiology. He has also worked in the Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Radiology, the controller’s office and at JHPIEGO. He’s been with the University since 2004.
One of the ways Dwain supports the Center is by helping to manage the “pre” and the “post” processes for grants and awards: compiling documents for submitting proposals; managing grants once awarded; monthly reconciliations; making sure the principal investigator is spending correctly; and closing out grants. He manages about three to five grants at a time.
He’s intrigued by the concept of food systems and excited to watch the Center grow. “This is the most unique place I’ve worked at Hopkins,” he says. Dwain is the chef in his household, often cooking meals from scratch for his wife and children. “Being here [at the Center],” he says, “I’m more conscious of what we’re putting on the table. I’m hoping to further my knowledge about what to bring home.”
