CLF Summer Internship Program

Each summer, a limited number of undergraduate students are selected to become a CLF Intern and work directly as a member of a project team. A CLF Internship affords students a chance to work and learn in a professional environment that can lead to a greater understanding of issues related to our mission and also inform career development plans. A central goal of this Internship Program is to provide an overall experience that contributes to both a student's professional development and CLF's ongoing work.

Interns are given challenging work assignments as well as helpful supervision and mentoring. Work assignments may include: research assistance in conducting scientific literature reviews; collecting research data and/or performing data analysis; contributing to the development of scientific papers and synthesis documents; providing project assistance; and, assisting in the development of  communication materials designed to inform education, advocacy and/or policy work. Performing administrative support activities is part of an Intern's scope of work, but generally involves no more than 20% of work hours. Interns are encouraged to attend CLF-sponsored seminars and lectures that may be scheduled during the summer months.

Interns should possess excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office programs (e. g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Successful applicants will also possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities. Strong verbal and writing skills are important along with an ability to work well as member of a diverse professional team.
