Kate Johnson

Kate Johnson, MS, is a third-year doctoral student in the Department of Health, Behavior & Society. Her research interests include community-based obesity prevention intervention strategies, particularly those incorporating changes to the built environment. Kate’s dissertation will explore the influence of neighborhood environments on obesity in preschool-aged children in Baltimore. Prior to beginning her doctoral program, she earned a BBA in Information Technology from the University of Notre Dame and studied food policy and applied nutrition at the Friedman School of Nutrition at Tufts University, earning an MS in Nutrition. Her advisor is Dr. Lawrence Cheskin, associate professor in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society.
