Rebecca Nachman

Rebecca Nachman is a sixth-year doctoral candidate in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences. Her research interests include human health risks associated with exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals and air pollution, with a special focus on pregnant women, the developing fetus, infants and children. In 2007, she received her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, for which she studied the effect of outdoor air pollutants on indoor air quality. In the same year, she was an intern at EPA’s National Center of Environmental Assessment providing support for agency research on human health risk assessment relating to environmental exposures. She was a 2011 Fellow of the Reach the Decision Makers Training Program through the UCSF Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment. Currently, she is engaged in her thesis research on dietary exposure to bisphenol-A in infants. Her advisor is Dr. Peter Lees, professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences.
