Anastasia Lambrou

Anastasia Lambrou, MSc, is a third-year PhD candidate in the Global Disease Epidemiology and Control Program within the Department of International Health. She received her MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and her undergraduate degree in Global Health: International Law and Infectious Diseases from Duke University. Anastasia’s research focuses on zoonotic emerging infectious diseases at global food production human-animal interfaces. She is working on projects concerning industrial hog operation workers in North Carolina, Japanese encephalitis in swine in Bangladesh, and antibiotic-usage in poultry farming in Nepal. Anastasia’s dissertation research focusses on mapping poultry trade networks and examining avian influenza risks at important poultry production interfaces in Thailand and North Carolina. Her adviser is Christopher Heaney, PhD.
